India defeated Australia by nine wickets in the third ODI, thanks to a brilliant partnership between Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli. Australia, batting first, scored 236 runs in 46.4 overs. In reply, Rohit Sharma scored a century and Kohli scored a half-century. These two batsmen shared a 168-run partnership for the second wicket, helping India win the match by scoring 237 runs for the loss of one wicket in 38.3 overs. However, Australia won the three-match series 2-1.

Chasing the target of 236, India achieved it in 38.3 overs. Rohit Sharma scored an unbeaten 121, while Virat Kohli made an unbeaten 74. Captain Gill contributed 24 runs. Rohit Sharma also set a record with his century. He scored his 50th century in international cricket and the 33rd century of his ODI career.

In this match, Indian bowlers also performed brilliantly and prevented Australia from making a big score. While chasing the target, Rohit and Gill gave India a good start and there was a partnership of 69 runs for the first wicket between them. This partnership was broken by Josh Hazlewood by dismissing Gill. After this, the pair of Rohit and Kohli took charge and gave a tough lesson to the Australian batsmen. Both these batsmen stayed till the end and returned to the pavilion unbeaten. Rohit scored an unbeaten 121 runs in 125 balls with the help of 13 fours and three sixes, while Kohli remained unbeaten after scoring 74 runs in 81 balls with the help of seven fours.
