India thrashed Pakistan by 61 runs in a one-sided match and qualified for the Super 8.

India defeated Pakistan by 61 runs in the 27th match of the T20 World Cup. In a one-sided match at the R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo, India batted first and scored 175 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in 20 overs. In reply, Pakistan lost wickets at regular intervals and could only score 114 runs after losing all the wickets in 18 overs. Jasprit Hardik-Varun, Bumrah and Axar Patel took 2 wickets each for India. With this win, India has qualified for the Super-8 stage.

Chasing the target of 176 runs, Pakistan’s team suffered a setback in the first over. Opener Sahibzada Farhan returned to the pavilion without any score. He was dismissed by Hardik Pandya. Jaspreet Bumrah LBW’d Saim Ayub in the second over. Ayub scored 6 runs in two balls. Bumrah also dismissed captain Salman Ali Agha in the same over. Salman could score only 4 runs in 4 balls. Babar Azam could score only 5 runs in 7 balls. Akshar Patel sent him to the pavilion. Usman Khan returned to the pavilion after scoring 44 runs in 34 balls. Akshar took his wicket. Mohammad Nawaz was dismissed by Kuldeep Yadav. Tilak Verma got Shadab Khan caught out.

India, batting first, suffered a major setback in the very first over. Opener Abhishek Sharma was dismissed for a duck by captain Salman Ali Agha. India scored 52 runs for the loss of one wicket in the powerplay. Ishan Kishan scored a half-century off 27 balls. He scored 77 runs off 40 balls.

He hit 10 fours and three sixes. Usman Tariq was given the opportunity to bowl in the 11th over and conceded 6 runs in his first over. Tilak Verma managed only 25 runs off 24 balls. Hardik Pandya was caught out trying to hit a big shot on the very first ball. Suryakumar Yadav contributed 32 runs off 29 balls. Shivam Dubey was run out for 27 off 17 balls. Axar Patel was caught off the first ball. For Pakistan, Saim Ayub took three wickets, while Usman, Shaheen, and Salman each took one wicket.

Pakistan surrendered easily in the 27th match of the ICC T20 World Cup 2026. Team India defeated Pakistan by 61 runs in the match.
