England Defeats Pakistan by 2 Wickets in a Thrilling Last-Over Finish

The Super 8 match between Pakistan and England was played in Pallekele. The English team won the match by 2 wickets.

Pakistan’s start was poor,
Pakistan’s batting again failed to perform well. Opener Sam Ayub was dismissed after scoring seven runs off seven balls. Captain Salman Ali Agar scored only five runs off six balls. However, the other opener Sahibzada Farhan definitely played a good innings. He scored 63 runs off 45 balls. He hit seven fours and two sixes with his bat. Babar Azam’s bat did not perform well again, although he got a good start. He played a slow innings of 25 runs off 24 balls. Fakhar Zaman scored 25 runs off 16 balls, but he too could not play a big innings. Shadab Khan scored 23 runs off 11 balls. For Pakistan, fast bowler Shaheen Afridi performed brilliantly and took four wickets, while Mohammad Nawaz and Usman Tariq got two wickets each.

Harry Brook’s Century
Captain Harry Brook was the biggest contributor to England’s victory. He smashed 100 runs off 51 balls, including 10 fours and four sixes. Will Jacks scored the second-highest score, scoring 28 runs off 23 balls. Sam Curran scored 16 runs off 15 balls. No other batsman reached double figures.

The England cricket team defeated Pakistan by two wickets, thanks to a brilliant century from captain Harry Brook. England secured a place in the semi-finals by winning two consecutive Super 8 matches.
