India Edge Past England by 7 runs to reach the Final

India beat England by 7 runs in the semifinal.

The second semi-final of the T20 World Cup was played between India and England at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. England captain Harry Brook won the toss and decided to bowl first against India, in which India won a thrilling victory.

Batting first, India got off to a good start, with Sanju Samson once again being the highest scorer for India. He scored 89 runs off 42 balls, including eight fours and seven sixes. However, Abhishek’s bat failed again, scoring only 9 runs. Ishan came in at number three and played a brilliant innings of 39 runs off 18 balls. Shivam Dubey scored 43 runs off 25 balls. Hardik scored 27 runs off 12 balls, and Tilak scored 21 runs off just seven balls. India posted a score of 253 runs.
For India, Hardik Pandya took two wickets, while Arshdeep, Jaspreet, Varun, and Axar each took one wicket each.

Chasing a challenging target of 254, England had a poor start, losing two wickets for 38. Phil Salt (5) and captain Harry Brook (7) were dismissed. Jacob Bethell made the biggest contribution, coming in at number four. He played a blistering innings of 105 runs off 48 balls, hitting eight fours and seven sixes. Will Jacks was the second-highest run-scorer for the team, scoring 35 runs off 20 balls. No other batsman could support him.

Will Jacks and Adil Rashid each took two wickets for England.

The 2026 T20 World Cup is now over for England.
