The match between India and Zimbabwe was played in Chennai. Team India won the match by 72 runs and kept their hopes of reaching the semi-finals alive.

Batting first after losing the toss, India scored 256 runs, thanks to half-centuries from Abhishek Sharma and Hardik Pandya. Abhishek Sharma was India’s highest run-scorer, scoring 55 runs. Hardik Pandya scored 50 runs off 23 balls, and Tilak Verma remained unbeaten on 44 runs off 16 balls. India scored the highest total in the ongoing T20 World Cup, and the second-highest total in T20 World Cup history. India hit 17 sixes in their innings.

Arshdeep Singh took the most wickets for India (3). The remaining wickets were taken by Varun Chakravarthy, Shivam Dubey, and Axar Patel, who each took 1 wicket.

Chasing 256, Northern Zimbabwe could only manage 184 for 6 in 20 overs. India won the match by 72 runs. Brian Bennett played a brilliant innings for Zimbabwe, scoring an unbeaten 97, but he lacked support from the other batsmen.
