Sanju Samson happy to join Chennai Super Kings

Sanju Samson has spoken about his feelings about joining the Chennai Super Kings for the first time. CSK posted a video of him on social media, in which he explains his feelings about donning the yellow jersey.

Sanju Samson has revealed that since childhood, he had wanted to be close to Mahendra Singh Dhoni and learn from him. Now, fate has granted him that opportunity, as he will share the same dressing room with Dhoni when he plays for Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in IPL 2026. Samson was acquired by CSK from Rajasthan Royals (RR) in a trade worth ₹18 crore.

Samson said that sharing the CSK dressing room with Dhoni is a dream come true for him. “I’ve always wanted this. Now, fate has brought me into the same dressing room with him. I’m thrilled to think about spending time with him for the next two months, having breakfast, practicing, and playing with him.

After donning the CSK jersey, Samson said he felt “like a champion.” With 4,704 runs, three centuries, and 26 half-centuries in 177 IPL matches, he brings both experience and leadership. He also captained the Rajasthan Royals for several years. CSK made a major trade to acquire Samson, sending Ravindra Jadeja and Sam Curran to Rajasthan Royals.
