Bangladesh beat Afghanistan by 6 wickets in the third T20 Sharjah, Bangladesh won the three-match T20 series 3-0.

Afghanistan, after losing the toss and batting first, scored 143 for 9 in 20 overs. The target of 144 was then achieved with 6 wickets in hand in 18 overs, thanks to Saif Hasan’s unbeaten half-century of 64 runs off 38 balls. Besides Saif, Tanzid Hasan also contributed 33 runs. With this, Bangladesh won the three-match T20 series 3-0.

Bangladesh got a slow start from the pair of Parvez Hasan Emon and Tanzid Hasan. Both added 24 runs in 4 overs but on the first ball of the fifth over Emon was caught by Rashid Khan off Azmatullah Umarzai. He could score only 14(16) runs. Saif Hasan who came to bat after losing the first wicket took the charge. The pair of Tanzid and Saif took Bangladesh to 79 runs in 10 overs. Tanzid was playing at 33 and Saif at 22 runs. But this partnership broke on the fourth ball after the drinks break. Abdullah Umarzai got Tanzid caught by Ibrahim Zadran at 33(33). Bangladesh suffered the third blow at the score of 79.

Saif Hasan smashed two fours and six sixes to reach his half-century off 32 balls, leading his team to a six-wicket win in 18 overs. Saif remained unbeaten on 64 off 38 balls, while Nurul Hasan remained unbeaten on 10 (9).

Afghanistan, who came to bat first, had a bad start. On the very first ball of the third over of the innings, opener Ibrahim Zadran was caught by Nurul Hasan off Shariful Islam. After this, on the first ball of the fourth over, Rahmanullah Gurbaz was caught by Shamim Hussain off Nasum Ahmed. Zadran could score 7(6) and Gurbaz could score 12(9). Afghanistan had lost two wickets for 24 runs and it got the third blow in the form of Wafiullah Tarakhil on the last ball of the powerplay. Tarakhil was bowled by Mohammad Saifuddin after scoring 11(13). Afghanistan’s score became 39 runs for 3 wickets in 6 overs.

Nabi returned to the pavilion after scoring one run, leaving Afghanistan at 82 for 6. Captain Rashid Khan tried to score quickly and took the team close to 100. However, after scoring 12 runs in 7 balls, he was caught by Tanzim Hasan Saqib. Abdullah Ahmadzai also perished on the very next ball without scoring a run. This was Afghanistan’s eighth blow. Afghanistan had lost 8 wickets at the score of 98.

Mujeeb, along with Bashir Ahmed, took Afghanistan to 143 for 9 in 20 overs. Mujeeb remained unbeaten on 23 (18) and Bashir on 2 (5). Mohammad Saifuddin took the most wickets for Bangladesh, taking three wickets. Nasum Ahmed and Tanzid Hasan Sakib took two wickets each.
